Some facts about Education:

• Less than 1 out of 20 children in schools have any text books
  

• The schools teach in English, so the US textbooks which are donated to them are perfect
  
  
• Most parents realize that the only way for the children to rise above poverty is through education

• Many of the pharmacy's are completely empty

Most school systems we see do not have any textbooks. We are able to provide high quality used US textbooks for about $1 per book. The reason they do not have any is because they would have to pay $25- $35 to buy them there. They believe education is there only way out of poverty. We can change whole communities with text books.

The people all over Africa desperately try to help. We found a church taking care of many orphans and widows. They had no money for a building. They spent 6 months making bricks from mud and straw. They spent a year putting it together and were so proud even though they new when they started they would have no money to buy the materials for a roof. We gave them money and in a few week they sent me a picture of their new roof.
